Frank Stanley Beveridge founded Stanley Park as a refuge of physical and spiritual beauty. We continue Mr. Beveridge's legacy with numerous gardens throughout the Park for our patrons to stroll and enjoy. From the award winning Rose Garden, to the more contemplative Asian and Herb gardens, we have gardens for everyone to enjoy.
This tranquil and secluded garden overlooks the Duck Ponds. Cathy's Garden was a gift given to Stanley Park in memory of Cathy Bean Street, Esq, dedicated June 20, 1992. “This garden is for all those who love and respect the land, the air, the water and all the creatures who dwell therein.”
Stanley Park's Acre Lawn is a beautiful green space located next to the Pavilion Annex and is an original part of Stanley Park. Many remember concerts and awards ceremonies that were held here during the early park years. A tranquil spot where you can find several shrines including the Angel of Independence.
This garden is named in honor of Dorothy Perkins, the wife of Homer Perkins. Mr. Perkins was one of Frank Stanley Beveridge's right hand men and later became President of Stanley Home Products. The garden contains some Dorothy Perkins Roses. When Homer first met Dorothy, they walked through a garden that was filled with Dorothy Perkins Roses and believed that it was a sign from heaven that their match was meant to be.
Help us ensure that Stanley Park will continue to be a safe and positive place for leisure and recreation. No matter what level of support you are able to give, you will help in the continuation of the services and traditions that Stanley Park has offered for over 70 years to so many area families.
