Stanley Park General Information

Stanley Park, a private non-profit organization, is pleased to offer numerous educational, cultural and entertainment programs, free to the public. Stanley Park also provides boundless access to both passive and active recreational opportunities.

Our Mission is to perpetuate the dreams of Frank Stanley Beveridge by maintaining Stanley Park as a refuge of physical and spiritual beauty, where families and individuals may enjoy gardens, trails, music, educational, sporting, and cultural activities in secure and peaceful surroundings, and to retain habitat for the wildlife of the area

Stanley Park is handicap accessible with handicap parking throughout the Park. For additional information, please contact the Park office at (413) 568-9312 OR contact the Park Ranger at (413) 2979456.

Park Hours of Operation

Official Season: Stanley Park is open to the public (7 days a week) from 7:00 am until dusk daily (1/2 hour before sunset) from the first Saturday in May until the last Sunday in November. Upon entrance, please note gate closing times.

Off-Season Hibernation: Gate 1, across from Westfield State University's Woodward Center, and Gate 5 off Granville Rd is open year-round from 7:00 am until dusk daily, weather permitting. Upon entrance, please note gate closing times.

Admissions Fees

There are no entrance fees or parking fees for Stanley Park. For Rentals and Permits please see the specific facility or view our fee schedule.

Stanley Park Rules and Regulations

Safety and Prohibited Items

  • No Smoking/Vaping or Alcohol: Strictly prohibited throughout the park.
  • Speed Limit: 10 MPH for all vehicles.
  • No Open Fires: Use provided grills in designated picnic areas only.
  • No fireworks, firearms, drones, unauthorized vehicles, or climbing are allowed to ensure safety.
  • Inflatable Items: Bounce houses, slides, etc. are not allowed on Stanley Park grounds.

Pets and Wildlife

  • Pets: Must be leashed at all times; not allowed in the Rose Garden or other designated gardens.
  • Wildlife Protection: Fishing, hunting and collecting frogs, fish and turtles are prohibited.

Parking and Vehicle Regulations

  • Parking: For park visitors only, unauthorized vehicles will be towed. Vehicles must leave by the posted closing time.
  • Designated Areas: Parking is only available in designated areas. There is no parking on concrete areas around the Beveridge Pavilion.

Permits and Authorized Activities

  • Permits Required: Professional photography, pavilion usage, fundraisers, sporting events, and wedding ceremonies.
  • Prohibited Activities in Gardens: Picnics, blankets, chairs, bicycles, skateboards, rollerblades, scooters, and picking plants are prohibited.

Picnic and Recreation Areas

  • Picnic Areas: Small groups (15 or less) on a first-come, first-served basis. No sports or lawn games are allowed without a permit. No fastenings to trees or buildings.
  • Recreation Fields: A reservation permit is required for groups of 20 or more. No fastenings to trees or buildings.

Reporting and Emergencies

  • Incident Reporting: Contact the Park Office (413) 568-9312 or Park Rangers (413) 297-9456 for any incidents.
  • Emergencies: Call the Westfield Police Department (413) 562-5411 or 911.

General Conduct

  • No Trespassing After Hours: Park is monitored by video surveillance.
  • Vandalism: Will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
