We are excited to add this health initiative to our schedule with six weekly sessions, led by Vicki Webb. Each of these sessions will be held on the Acre Lawn, next to the Pavilion Annex. Some of the benefits of T’ai Chi Chih are decreased stress, increased energy, improved balance and enhanced immunity, to name a few. No special clothing or equipment is needed, however flat, flexible shoes can help on uneven ground.
T’ai Chi Chih is a user-friendly form of moving meditation that is easy to learn and fun to practice. Unlike more traditional forms, it uses repetitions of 19 simple movements, so even if you only remember a few of hem, you can create a relaxing and effective daily practice. Taught by accredited instructor, Vicki Webb, the form is appropriate for all ages and can be adapted for special needs. No special clothing or equipment is needed, but flat, flexible shoes can help on uneven ground. Come with an open mind and a willing heart. Give it a try and see what T’ai Chi Chih can do for you. Reported benefits include:
Decreased Stress Greater Focus and Clarity
Increased Energy Reduced Pain
Improved Balance Normalized Blood Pressure
Enhanced Immunity Increased Joy and Calm
Vicky has been practicing this form since 2000, and was accredited to teach in 2003. Since then, she has taught it in community school programs, yoga centers, corporate wellness programs, the YMCA, and most recently as an undergraduate college class.
It is recommended you attend all six sessions to get the most out of this class.
Donations to the Park are welcome, with a suggested donation of $5 per person per class.
Once your registration is complete we will follow up with you to confirm.
We host a number of great events at Stanley Park and would love for you to join us.
